Hello everybody,
Here is a small update of what we have been doing in the last few weeks. Hopefully there are users on our site that look forward to our status updates.
In September I have already posted some updates, see here:
http://www.vbulletin-fans.com/showthread.php?t=22951 and ever since we have done a few more things. And have some more tasks planned for October.
From vBulletin.com we've learned that version 3.6.2 is on its way and we will soon be able to install this. We suspect this upgrade to be minor so it should go smoothly. Once upgraded we have to do more style changes and introduce a shiney blue style to you. Yes, I have promised this multiple times and I keep doing so because my intention to make the blue style public is something I really want to do. The delays are some unforeseen things that go on behind the scene. Hopefully October won't have these surprises and I have enough time to continue with the style.
Talking about styles Brian has been working really hard to finalize the ProStyle version 1.6 for vBulletin 3.6.2 and our plan is to release this within a week. This will be a free upgrade to all our current ProStyle licensed members. Please note the style is no longer for sale. But if you have a really good argument why you should own a license I might have a few lying around you could get at a reduced price. Just poke me with a PrivMsg.
Ok, a rumour has been planted by a few members on IRC that our sponsor has big plans for us. We can not confirm any of this right now but are indeed talking to our sponsor to see how we can get the most out of our hosting package. Once we have some concrete information we will post about this.
Now that we are talking about rumours, another one I read the other day is that we have been talking about competitions again. Yes! I can now confirm we have been talking about a 2006 competition and our staff will have a meeting in October to discuss this in further detail. Hopefully we can announce a competition in the next few months. Hey! 2006 isn't over yet!
So, what have we been doing in the last few weeks .. well, we have updated the official vbulletin.com usergroup and tried to make sure we did not miss anybody. All vBulletin.com staff members have been added to this usergroup. And we have made a usergroup for all official distributor and resource web sites. All their staff members can register on our site and contact us to get added to this usergroup. This way members know if you are an official staff member on either vbulletin.com or one of the official sister sites.
A small tweak we've applied for our staff members is a ' ban this user ' link from the dropdown. This to help us take down spammers - hopefully you as end-user notice no spam on our site!
A bigger tweak is the setup of forums. We have started working on our marketplace forums where we allow sellers and buyers to post about their requests and products, etc. We will make an announcement about this marketplace when it opens to the public.
Oh, our staff has gone through our sticky threads to get rid of those nasty duplicates and outdated sticky threads. I strongly recommend everybody to browse through them and stay up to date on our forum rules and other important news (per forum). If you see anything that is wrong or out of date please report it and we will do our best to update it.
We have more changes planned and they are all to benefit our community. Please bare with us and feel free to make suggestions on how we can improve our web sites.
Upcoming are more articles, interviews, reviews, podcasts, competitions and of course more content for everybody. We will also work on tweaking the setup of forums on one of our other network sites.
Thank you all for visiting our site, reading our topics and signing up and posting. We will soon post an announcement about how to benefit the most as a member. How to get all access - accounts. Which includes free style downloads for example.
PostReply with you soon!
