The host irc.omgboards.com will be replaced by the host irc.vbulletin-chats.com, effective immediately. Please update your chat client shortcuts or your java applet parameter tags.
Our current network setup:
irc.vbulletin-chat.com (HUB with rDNS)

Performance has improved, maintenance is now scheduled weekly instead of montly and backups are hourly instead of daily. The capacity has been increased and we can hold up to 2500+ users at the same time without noticable lag. And we have the ability to expand with steps of 250 to 1000 where needed.
Note! This is hosted by Viper Internet and ACME Shells Internet for the vBulletin Fans Network. Meaning that we can offer these services to everybody at no cost. You can add a chat section on your own web site, your own private chat channels and your own private hosts (btw, we host masks upon login so users can chat anonymous). There are no costs involved running or managing a channel. It comes with a free service bot, a database bot, and a google bot.
To connect: /server irc.vbulletin-chat.com 6667
To set a name: /nick JohnDoe
To join a chat channel: /join #vbfans
To chat in a channel: Just type and press enter!
Which clients can I use to chat?
X-Chat works on the Mac, Windows, and Linux.
For Windows I recommend mIRC.
Gawd, irc.vbulletin-chat.com is so long, don't you have a shorter version?
Sure. Just use: /server irc.vbfans.com or /server irc.vbirc.com
Besides irc.omgboards.com being replaced with irc.vbulletin-chats.com there's another change on the network. We will soon set up Chroder as an operator to help out manage the network more efficiently and to help cover different time-zones for when people need assistance.
