What's going on?

When I get a subscription mail with a link that there's new content to a topic I am participating in, sometimes I get a "invalid thread".

The answer is: We know, and it's an unfortunate side effect of our special site setup.

The thread is really there, the domain part of the URL is just wrong.
If you know it's a vBulletin thread, try replacing the domain with vbfans.com
If you know it's a game thread, try replacing the domain with wetalkgames.net

We are aware of the problem and are looking into solutions, and hope to address this before the end of the month, or Jan 1st 2010.

Here's what happens:

When you post on wetalk.tv and then someone else posts a reply on wetalk.tv, all good. The system then schedules an email to go out letting you know there's an update.

Now, someone happens to be on wetalk.tv and triggers this scheduled task and the email ends up with the right domain.

But!

If someone happens to be on say wetalkgames.net and triggers the scheduled task the email ends up having the wrong domain.

Yikes! Yes, indeed

Please bare with us while we work on this issue and resolve it. The thread is really there, and hopefully this issue is soon resolved. Thanks to everybody who reported this to us so we've become aware.

Small update.

A 'test' fix has been created by me, and is now live.
This patch is only effective on instant notification emails.
If you use daily or weekly digest, I recommend to (temporary) switch to 'instant email notification' and the URL should be set correctly.

The tests were successful, now let's see how that goes when 5000+ users use it.

The daily digest and weekly digest for forum thread subscriptions should be 'test-patched' now. It has some known bugs, so the duck tape comes in handy. But we're making progress.
