Dear visitor to our network, thank you for browsing around and signing up and posting. And our apologies for the cluttered overview. Hopefully this thread helps a little to explain where you are now and where you can find what.
We are a network of topics, but we are all one community / nation.
Every 'site' has the same header, sidebar, footer and news forum.
Our main web site is the wetalk nation (wetalknation.net) which we are building to become our frontpage with an overview of featured content from our topic sites. This is also the place where new content from these sites are listed. So you could quickly find out what's hot and new. On the nation site you can also find your personal blog, albums, social groups, your personal profile, etc. As well as the place to leave site feedback.
Below the nation site we have another site that is our offtopic forums. The oh my gawd boards are filled with funny and offtopic discussions. If you are unsure where to post something you can just drop it there. Our staff could move it to the right place if needed. (omgboards.com)
Every popular topic however is broken off into its own topic site. For example, tv, movies, music, sports. You can find them on wetalktv.net, wetalkmovies.net, wetalkmusic.net and wetalksports.net.
Sometimes due to importing communities into our network the url isn't always wetalk<topic>.net but something like thenewtech.com for our tech site. Or vbfans.com for our vBulletin site.
If a user registers on one of the communities the login can be used on all the sites. All the sites are owned by the same two people: Floris and Christopher. We do not share your details with third parties. We believe in your privacy. But isn't it great? You sign up once, and you have one profile that works on all the sites, you get one newsletter, and you can pick the topic you like and could ignore the other sites. In most browsers if you login you are also logged into the other sites, so logging in again isn't needed.
At the moment we cover 10+ communities and in 2010 we're cleaning up the forum structures on the communities so they make more sense. And we're going to work on removing the clutter some people have pointed out to us.
Please browse around, get familiar with the setup, and we invite you to register, and participate by posting new topics or reply to existing ones. I think you will find out we are a great bunch of staff, and this is a cool place for you and your friends and their friend, or simply a nice place to find new friends.
